Screenwriting : Script Consultants by Lance Cary

Script Consultants

Who Are The Best? I realize there are opinions for script consultants across the board. But please don’t give me all the reasons to stay away. I’ve done my due diligence and am moving forward. I could just really use your suggestions on who is likely one of the best. I’m only looking at very experienced resumes. Right now, I plan on using Linda Seger. Am I missing someone better? Thanks for your consideration!

Jason Mirch

Hey Lance, do you have a specific project or genre? That might be helpful in helping you find someone really solid.

Danny Manus

I realize this is biased and self serving, but I run No Bullscript Consulting and I'm a damn good consultant. Im a former development exec, also a writer, I have worked with many Stage 32 writers, and while Linda is great, she will cost you about $2000 more than what most consultants charge. I dont think your script should cost as much as your rent. Happy to answer any questions you may have. good luck!

Linda is a great choice, Lance. Highly respected in the industry. There's also Mark Sanderson - https://fiveoclockblue.net/screenplay-consultation - and Lucy Hay - www.bang2write.com. I'd also recommend my good self (shock!). Take a look at my site - www.philmscribe.com - for more information on my background and what I do and feel free to ask any questions. Happy to chat.

In my view, you can't go wrong with anyone that is on the Stage 32 site (including contributors - looking at you Danny Manus!). I'm working on my new script (comedy with heart) and when it's ready, I'm coming here to find readers to give me their thoughts.

I think hiring someone face to face is gonna be a hard ask for most people and I've never heard of any consult doing that. I agree it is desirable, but not often available. I haven't used anyone yet and there are some names here I have looked into. I really do want to at some stage. But I found a good friend who helps a lot. I think it helps to have more than one person's feedback.

I highly recommend Stage 32's Standard Coverage from an Industry Reader. I was well

rewarded for the small investment
