don't know where you live but when it's hot here on the East Coast, like August humid 100 degrees hot, I go to fancy hotel lobbies. Cold Air Conditioning, free Wifi, outlets, and some hotels give free snacks. Bring a laptop or use my iPhone to write.
Too lazy to turn on the AC? Set/program your thermostat (recommended temp is 78 degrees) and forget it! If you do not have a programmable thermast—buy one. It's normal to feel sluggish in that kind of heat! When it is hot like that you have to be careful not to carb-out and be sure to (hydrate) drink lots of water. A writer at-heart will do whatever it takes to write.
Dan, I just asked Alexa to get me a beer and she came back with "Okay, here are your police scanner codes." Probably for the best. 9:00am on a Wednesday is a little too early for a cold one.
This thread could inspire a good comedy screenplay! Speaking of comedy... I watched a commercial on TV for "The Hustle"... it showed one of the female hustlers preparing to shoot a clay pigeon but she accidentally shoots the man running on the lawn! OMG. I'm still cracking up over that! I love a freaking good laugh! See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=4i6EBeX_V3o
@Dash Pour yourself a tall glass of ice cool larger like they did in "Ice Cold In Alex" A drink worth waiting for after their ordeal in the heat....and then write another classic film!
Karen Stark I believe it. Blarney was so wet and cold, I can see how it would happen in places like that. Australia is the driest continent, not used to water being a problem, lack of it, yes.

Move to Sydney. That’s Autumn. During Summer down here you can sweat under water.

Move to Blarney in Ireland. I was there last year for a trip. Never gets over 26 and they have never seen Airconditioning.
People die of damp they tell me.

Move to a new place with a “Alexa” home system. “Hey, Alexa, turn on the AC, turn on lights, get me a cold beer.”
As long as the place has flush toilets (with seat warmers) and AC, I can be as manly as anyone.

Allergies stop me from writing. I am just too miserable to function.
Also, anytime within two hours of talking to the ex.

Stare at the AC unit until it gives in and turns itself on

Done. An ice-cold (but no ice) Stoli straight from the freezer hit the spot.
That's hardcore, Dash!
