In light of another month of self-isolation I wanted to create a film that explores how all of us are feeling in the midst of this crazy time. My new fictional film Social Distancing is about a survivor in a virus infested world where people have stopped communicating.
Since I have spent the last 2 and four years (respectively) focusing on a full length documentary and a short film, I have been in the refinement process of creating for far too long. With that in mind I wanted to make something that was allowed to have flaws as the goal was to create something in a short time period.
We shot for two days with just two people, and then I animated and edited the film in a few days as well. Due to wanting to release it fast, I never actually got to see a full res animation until it was finished. My computer build is still not very good and my knowledge of render settings is even worse! My skill in Blender is BEGINNER to say the least, but I still think the film is effective in the message it was trying to convey. You can watch the entire film by clicking here- https://youtu.be/r2TGsS7RQ8w

Not too bad for such a short period. I just found the female intro voice could be added a more soulful dimension (desperate). Cheers

@Jordan Thanks for the share the short really captures the paranoia and isolation of this strange time. The script is spot on, the world really did think it had mastered all, next year holidays to the moon were due but now humanity is humbled by an invisible microbe. Everyone on the planet is affected directly or indirectly and the enemy isn’t even human.
