I used to make my own movie posters, thinking I knew my movie better than anyone, so I was the right person to do the poster as well. Needless to say the results have always been lackluster, but my ego left me blind of this. But lately, I’ve been looking at my filmmaking through a different lens. It used to be just art, art, art. But now I am thinking about the business side just as much. And the business side is telling my artist side, “You’re a filmmaker, not a graphic designer or someone who can draw. Your posters suck. Get better posters made if you want better results.” So I listened, I researched and looked for someone who could execute the idea of my poster in a way I could never do and the results are night and day. You gotta grow, baby, you gotta grow.
I am a collector of these types of poster, they are NOT perfect but their is a visceral and organic selling point. This is just one of my vintage collection. Kudos @Leslie
Thank you, Debbie. I love this style of poster and the streaming series of it has the same feel, but I modernized it using some very interesting techniques that I am sharing with anyone who is interested: https://www.youtube.com/user/lesrivera
BTW, Marijuana Girl, I must watch that!
Like the poster. Can you share who did it?
Thanks, Philip. I hired someone from fiverr to do it after a few days of research and finding the right artist who I felt would do it justice (and was within my budget).
