Introduce Yourself : Lee Eversole by Lee Eversole

Lee Eversole

Hi everyone. A little about me. I have devoted my life to education and writing. I guess that when my father passed, I inherited his unequalled Jimmie Angel collection and have since published some articles, wrote a screenplay, and the biography. It's hard. It's really hard breaking in. Angel discovered the tallest waterfall, Angel Falls, was the first Nat Am to fly, taught Lindbergh to fly, flew in the First Air War, meddled with Lawrence and Feisel, was a mercenary for a Chinese Warlord, dazzled in the first flying circuses, was a stunt pilot for Hughes, Hell's Angels, performed as a gun-runner for Somosa, and for the self-proclaimed Anti-Christ, Garrido. I've had two agents who did not sell the screenplay. So much interest. So little to show. Being a nonfiction historical script writer, I find myself in a very exclusive genre. Can anyone out there relate? Anyway, I'd love to connect with those nonfiction writers out there, and with anyone with similar interests in writing and movie-making. I'm very spiritual and live in the spiritual capital of America, Crestone, Colorado. Monasteries, ashrams, Zen Center, stupas, even Christina churches. And one gas station. So very nice to meet you. Lee

Karen "Kay" Ross

Hey, Lee Eversole! My name is Kay, I'm the Community Manager here at Stage 32. If you'd like to learn more about myself and the Stage32 Team, we have an intro blog: https://www.stage32.com/blog/Meet-the-Stage-32-Team Nice to meet you and welcome to the community!

Oh, hey! I went to school in Colorado! Congrats on your screenplay! There's definitely a huge interest in IP based on true stories right now. Definitely reach out to our Director of Script Services, Jason Mirch, who is excellent at matching projects with potential executives (or managers, in your case): J.Mirch@stage32.com

Non-fiction historical scriptwriter is in a fair amount of demand, it's just a matter of for what format. Documentary films tend to be a one-off research assignment, and then the producers run with it. I find your skillset is in greater demand for unscripted television. Have you considered offering services as a consultant? You could read scripts and check them for historical accuracy.

I’m sure you’ve already discovered the Screenwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting), but definitely check out the Authoring & Playwriting Lounge as well! Maybe you could start a conversation there about the challenges of being a non-fiction historical writer? https://www.stage32.com/lounge/playwriting

Keep in mind that these lounges are like the VIP Filmmaker's Lounges at Film Festivals, so this is where you can meet the people doing the work, get advice on anything you're working on, and/or give back to those who may need advice. We're a very supportive and encouraging community! I think you'd also enjoy my intro blog post on how to engage with the Stage32 Community:

Enjoy exploring the lounges, and don't forget to comment and respond to others’ posts, too! It's the best way to really connect! And, of course, feel free to reach out at any time. Cheers!
