I've been looking around for distribution options for my short film and came across shortly.film. Is there anybody here who uploaded their film on that platform and did it work out well making any money there?
shortly.film is in a "beta" mode and has been for some time. I don't know what their audience is. They don't charge for views at this time, to my knowledge, as you can see if you join and watch.
As Ewan already mentioned it is rare to make any money with a short film but still it is possible. I like the concept of paus.tv. When it comes to short films we can and should not ask the audience to pay for watching a film. But we can ask the audience to tip a film.
Its rare for a short film to make money, but they are a good way to test out your skills or use as a testing ground for a concept or idea.
