Acting : When life hands you auditions... by Mark Palmer

Mark Palmer

When life hands you auditions...

7 self-tape auditions (6 commercials and 1 short film lead) since Thursday last week - I really do try and find the positives in everything these days...who knows if I'll get any of the parts...but damn...just getting the chance to audition is a small victory in itself (well that's how I see it).

Since most of us actors/comedians/musicians etc lives were completely destroyed by the pandemic I cling to this saying...it's become a mantra of sorts:

"The sweet doesn't taste as sweet until you've tasted the bitter!"

Have an awesome and productive week everyone.

When it rains it pours! At our taping service, we see this happen all the time. An actor doesn't get 5 auditions spread neatly out across a couple weeks, but instead they're all overlap and have similar deadlines. No fault of anyone, of course, just the way it happens sometimes. Kudos to your positive outlook, Mark Palmer!

Getting the auditions is definitely a victory -- go you!

Looking forward to every "positive" is a word of wisdom that can be lived through the audition process - such a blessing to have 7 self-tape opportunities!
