I'm Alex Avila and we created TexMex FilmWorks LLC to create sophisticated film projects devoid of the tired Latino stereotypes promoted by Hollywood. Coming from Texas where Latino lawyers, doctors, business leaders, professionals, etc. are found everywhere, we know we can tell compelling stories without Latino criminals, thugs, gang-members, and single-mom maids. We also tire of the immigrant stories.
My team is experienced and our first project under our new banner is an award-winning screenplay called CEREBRAL, a psychological thriller. We just got the green light from the state securities board to start our crowd-funding campaign. We launch in a week.
