Screenwriting : March goals!!! by John Mezes

John Mezes

March goals!!!

Hi Stage 32!

Monday question: Is everyone close to accomplishing their creative goals they set for themselves for March? What are you working on? Do you need inspiration or help? Let yourself be heard!!!

Maurice Vaughan

How are you doing, John Mezes? I'm close to finishing a feature script job (I can't reveal details about it).

John Mezes

(cue the Mission Impossible theme) No problem, close to the vest. I'm doing great! Gearing up for my feature script to begin shooting in NY in April. I'm also working on two other feature scripts, one's horror, the other is action, and finally re-writing a script that is a collaborative project before the end of March.

Craig D Griffiths

I finished renovating a house and sold it. I am now free to get back to some writing.

I am about to release a book

TOOLS NOT RULES.

It will be free. I’ll keep people informed. It should be out soon.

Shay Villere

i hit my goals so long ago i tend not to bother with making too many new ones

John Mezes

Awesome, Craig! I'll keep my eyes open for it! Shay - that has to be a great feeling, satisfied with your accomplishments, but knowing if you ever wanted another goal, it's attainable.

Maurice Vaughan

Congrats, John Mezes, You must be excited knowing your script is about to be filmed.

Doug Nelson

I'm location scouting & casting for a short intended for an end of March shoot. I need all the help I can get locally.

John Mezes

Thanks, Maurice! Yes, it is very exciting to see concept to script to film come to life. I was invited on set, so that is terrific too. Hi Doug. Sounds great. Where are you shooting? Did you try actors through Stage 32 jobs for the area, or close to it? Just a thought.

Maurice Vaughan

Please keep us updated on the film, John Mezes.

John Mezes

Absolutely, Maurice! Perhaps another blog from me about it could be in my future. I hope to one day meet you, zoom or otherwise, and work with you on a script. That would be terrific. I feel our personalities would work good together.

Maurice Vaughan

Working together sounds great, John Mezes. I'm working to finish that feature script job (and two more), and you have a few projects going, so perhaps we'll write something together in the near future.

John Mezes

It's a plan, Maurice. We planted the seed of greatness here today!
