That's upsetting. Does it reference a website at all?
Just went back and found it: Charlotte@scarabfilms.com was where the email came from, but the website link click, when you hover and check the link below was to a completely different site engage.squarespace-mail.com in two links, including the button that said submit to FilmFreeway.

When you're ready, go through Film Freeways. In general I stay away from monthly festivals. Look for Gold, how many years they've been running, who funds them, how many attendees, etc.
