OTT & Transmedia : Hello transmedia enthusiasts :) Do you have a favorite transmedia world? Or at least one of your top five that you can share? by Ami Mariscal
Hi Ami - great question! My top 3 are: Marvel/DC/Harry Potter! What about you? I'm interested how you are working Transmedia into your non-profit projects.
Batman. (Theoretically) Did Transmedia at 3 London schools, met staff who had picked up telephones USA cinemas to get clues and others who waited for drop off memorabilia in Central Park.
Mine would be Snow Crash which is a novel from 30 years ago. Is it a transmedia world? Nah... it is reality! The author Neal Stephenson came up with the Metaverse, crypto currency, AR (or did he simply describe them via some fey time travel psychotic break?). The point is, you have reality itself being shaped by stories we tell. And those stories are being told across multiple mediums. Holy kapoosta, reality and life itself has become my favourite transmedia world.
Debbie Croysdale - What do you mean 'Did Transmedia at 3 London schools...'? You were part of some kind of project, job assignment? This is really interesting. I can't believe I only happened across your comment now! Like, who organised this event. How did you get involved. I'd love to see it as a new thread in this lounge. Cheers, (the former Meg)!
Hi @Morgan I meant I studied TM at 3 schools, one which was London Film School.
I write content both for myself and others. The actual "technical execution" is not my job. LOL Although I did try. It's easy to push out a simple Transmedia EG Blog, podcast, novel, short film but for a fully up and running interactive professional website to be used by the public I am using experts. Next year my site will be published. I'll hit you up at the time.
