Introduce Yourself : It's sundance week! by Tracy Lea Carnes

Tracy Lea Carnes

It's sundance week!

I'm an award winning playwright, a screenwriter, and a novelist. So, are you wishing you were at Sundance right now? I do, too. Well, you could be by curling up by the fire with my novel THE DARLINGS OF SUNDANCE which takes you on a journey thru the Sundance Film Festival. That's the closest I can get you there at the moment! If you click on my profile, you can find more information on it there.

I'm quite proud that I've written a novel - I've actually written two! Both are available on Amazon. I've also written a tv pilot and pitch deck (a kind of Queen's Gambit meets Ted Lasso) with a well known screenwriter and Sundance alum. We've been pitching that project around as well.

I'm wishing I was back at Sundance. This year would have been my fifth time. I love the buzz, the creative energy in the air there, and the people. Everyone is friendly, the lounges are fun, the parties are even better with free food and booze, and the films and music there are amazing. I have made great lifelong friends there, many who inspired the characters for my novel. That festival will always hold a special place in my heart.

Hi Tracy Lea Carnes - it's great to meet you here in the community. A navel set against Sundance sounds like such a cool idea. Will check it out on Amazon.

Maurice Vaughan

I think it's great that you wrote a novel about Sundance, Tracy Lea Carnes. People can read it and know what to expect when they go to the festival. Hope you and the screenwriter/Sundance alum sell the show!

Roberta Wilson

Amazon has published my fifth book. I’m

so excited.

My heroine, Clare Tremont, balances her life, by swimming to relieve stress. She further complicates her life, by meeting a man through a dating site, and as her attraction to Trey begins to grow.. the world becomes more open and vibrantly filled with possibilities. The book isn’t just about Clare, there are other characters that make it fun, witty.. and very unexpected.

Tracy Lea Carnes

Thanks Sam! Hope you enjoy it.

Tracy Lea Carnes

Thanks Maurice. It’s not really a guide book though. I could write a guide book about how I do Sundance, but then everyone would know how to do it!

Amanda Toney

Absolutely love this photo Tracy! I could feel your love for the creative energy at Sundance. We had a really great partnership with United airlines there this year empowering female, and non-binary filmmakers it truly is electric. Congratulations on your projects… How did you keep the discipline to finish your novel?

Tracy Lea Carnes

It wasn’t easy. I got up at 5am every morning and worked until I needed to get ready and go to work. I’m ADD so I was determined. This is my second novel. Because I’m ADD I tend to hyper focus on projects.

Thanks for the complement. That’s the gondola at The Canyons I believe. I just love the energy at Sundance. It’s like nowhere else!

Roberta Wilson

congratulations to you on your hard workTracy Lea Carnes

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Tracy Lea Carnes. "I could write a guide book about how I do Sundance, but then everyone would know how to do it!" That'd be great, right? I think a "how-to" guide for Sundance would be really helpful for people who are preparing to go, and I think the guide would be a big seller.
