I recently posted the following note to my Wall, then learned I should have posted it to the appropriate Lounge area, which I hope this is.
So here’s … Take Two:
Hi Creative Allies,
I’ve been “away” for a bit overcoming some time-consuming life challenges. Outside of jotting notes for writing projects, my main creative pursuit has been entering a few screenwriting competitions. Which can lead to encouraging results.
Two of my short scripts, “Love” and “Tea for Two”, were Finalists in the California International Children’s Film Festival, which took place in Los Angeles on May 4th and 5th. And my feature screenplay, "The Seduction of Auntie Rose", is one of a handful of Finalists in the 19th Annual Harlem International Film Festival, taking place in Harlem in NYC from May 16 – 26, 2024.
The CICFF features scripts that focus on children (www.calchildrensfest.com), and Hi (www.HarlemFilmFestival.org) creates opportunities for diverse voices.
In recent times, we’ve seen the difference perseverance can make in achieving goals. So, whatever boulders may topple into your paths at times, I hope you will always feel encouraged to persevere.
With love and all best wishes,
Alpha
Congratulations on your scripts being Finalists, Alpha Blair! I’m a Stage 32 Lounge Moderator. I wanted to let you know that I moved your post from the Screenwriting Lounge to the Your Stage Lounge. You can post about placing in or winning an outside contest (non-Stage 32 contest) in the Your Stage Lounge and on Your Wall. Let me know if you have any questions.
