Hi everyone,
I'm curious about the primary challenges screenwriters face in their work. Is it the struggle of staring at a blank page, dealing with procrastination, coming up with fresh ideas, or maintaining consistency throughout the writing process?
And if there will be a screenwriting template or software for example, what would you REALLY love to see as a feature?
Please share your insights and experiences!
Thank you!

Hi, Ahmed Mohammed Abd El-Sabour. I overcame a lot of challenges in my work by writing script after script, reading scripts, and using the resources on Stage 32 (webinars, Lounges, AMAs, blogs, etc.). One of the things I've gotten a lot better at but I'm still working on is making sure what I write in my scripts is clear to others. The things I write (like an action line) might be clear to me, but that doesn't always mean it'll be clear to the people who read my scripts.

Of course practicing is the key! But was the hardest challenge you've faced when you were just starting out, I mean so long ago when you were writing your first or second screenplay? Thanks

I didn't have a lot of screenwriting resources when I started off, Ahmed Mohammed Abd El-Sabour, so everything was a big challenge, especially learning how to structure my scripts.

Hardest challenge for me when I was first starting out was learning how to take notes, Ahmed Mohammed Abd El-Sabour . Like most screenwriters, I took all negative notes personally and emotionally instead of looking at them as having the potential to pump up the work. Of course, hand in hand with that was recognizing that the notes were one person's opinion and not gospel.

For me, having something to say. I write from theme. I need my stories to say something, even if it says it in a whisper.

Keeping your head in the game and not giving up after a few rejections. Just keep at it.

And don't take those rejections personally, Thom Reese. Absorb, parse, apply if necessary and move on. Forward momentum is the name of the game.

Time is a huge challenge. As a writer with a day job like many here on this site, I'm always grinding nights and weekends, and the energy tank is not endless. So learning to take care of myself, practice healthy habits, balancing my mental and physical exertion, and knowing when to take breaks helps me most efficiently push projects along.

I'm not sure what you mean, Ahmed Mohammed Abd El-Sabour. Screenwriting software already exist.

no no, sorry for not clarifying idk why did I write that, I meant a fitness tracker-like software for screenwriters, besides having the default screenwriting page, it helps with the issues screenwriters face as some of the gentlemen pointed out ^
