Never been much of a fan of the prequel. We already know things are going to work out for our main characters so it really takes away the stakes. I think it's very hard to make one worth watching.
I'm not a big fan of prequels for the same reason, Nathan Smith, but I'll watch them if they're for movies I grew up watching or movies I like now. I know there are prequel shows, but I don't think I've watched any.
I love it, Maurice Vaughan. I'd love to write the Killing Eve sequel. I'm not happy with the ending they chose. I'd love to write the Killing Eve Resurrection sequel. You see, I've already got a title :)
I like the title, Sandra Isabel Correia. "I'm not happy with the ending they chose." Would you build off the ending for the sequel or do a reveal where the audience finds out that the ending wasn't what they thought?
I like that idea, Billy Kwack! Anthology movies are fun to watch. I wrote an anthology script. I put my short scripts together in a feature script and connected the stories with the main storyline.
I choose second option Maurice Vaughan. I would reveal to the audience that the ending wasn’t what they thought and I will begin with a big twist to surprise the audience:))
I’d do a different prequel to wizard of Ozzy with it starting a kid plants a speaker all hidden high in the top of the chapel, and everyone begins to think they are talking to god, and it’s just like a planted walk-in talkie broad casting them on his wallow talkie speaker and his clicks on the speaker and booming voice. That he first had a close call getting caught and turns into changing lives w the money donated and even paving Al the roads in discount gold bricks. Having a contest annually for most interesting thing found.. and finding a color changing horse.. but a story about a kid that eventually turns the whole thing around and makes oz fantastic to live in hearing complaints and playing their god.
Hey, E.J. Wade. I like that. I think I saw Tombstone growing up. I won't use your idea. This is just something fun for the community to do. It might lead to members getting original script ideas. If that happens, members are welcome to keep those ideas to themselves and write the scripts.
Maurice Vaughan If I got the opportunity to write a sequel or prequel for a movie or show, I’d pick Leave the World Behind. The story’s mystery and sense of isolation left a lot of room for expansion. I’d be especially interested in writing a prequel—but instead of just showing what happened before, I’d dig deeper into the cyber mystery element.
I like that direction you'd go in with the prequel, Dwayne Williams! Digging deeper into the cyber mystery element. I've been meaning to watch Leave the World Behind. I might watch it today.
I like it, Francisco Castro! I haven't seen They Live in a long time. I don't remember those characters. I'll have to watch it again soon. I can see your idea being an original series too.
I had some free time the other day, I started a very brief outline for The Goonies 2 - The hunt for one eyed Willy. Part of the set up is they all mostly have kids now, making it look like a handing over the torch kind of vibe , except they all dump the kids with various family members so we get all The Goonies back in action with no bloated cast list!
Hey, Aidan Robinson. I like that direction for The Goonies 2! And I think it's smart to avoid a bloated cast. That way, we can invest in fewer characters. It's harder to invest in a lot of characters.
My heart is in the horror/science fiction genre. I was thinking of origin stories. Two origin stories I would tell would be of two villainous characters. One is from an animated film and the other is from a horror film. I would love to do an origin story on the Queen of hearts and one on Fred Krueger.
The queen of hearts was ruthless and she was quick to cut off people's heads. What got her to that point. Why is she so domineering? Why does she loathe any type of criticism? She even treats her husband with a heavy hand. What in her life went wrong?
We know of Krueger's background as far as segments told throughout the franchise. We have never gotten a full story as to what happened after he was likely taken from his mother (the nun). What was his childhood like? Was he always evil? Was he subjected to abuse? What led up to his dark and sinister acts that led the parents to burn him alive? What deals did he make to become the boogeyman?
Good question. I would love to work on Short Circuit 3. The natural built in drama of Johnny 5 watching his friends get older/sick/die forces him to contemplate his own existence. He’s also confronted with the leaps forward technology has taken and the need to prevent AI from trying to destroy him.
I'm surprised they haven't done Queen of Hearts and Freddy Krueger origin stories, Renae Richardson. I remember they did a Queen of Hearts origin story in one of the recent Alice in Wonderland movies, but I think they should do a full movie about it.
Great question: Hancock - always loved the film and recently discovered the original story and script. I'd rewrite a sequel more grittier, darker like the original script but introduce younger super human protagonists (similar to "Chronicle").

For me it would be James Bond Maurice Vaughan and I´d take it to new heights like: James Bond Jr 007.

I like that, Mark Deuce! You could start with James Bond as a kid, then a teenage James Bond movie, then a movie with him as an adult.

If you ever write a few short scripts in the same genre, think about combining them into an anthology feature script, Billy Kwack.
That's unique, David Ramey Gordon. I can see that being something Warner Bros makes right now.
What Star Trek movie or show would your sequel/prequel be for, Mista Martel?

Hi Maurice, okay
I've heard of Deep Space Nine, Mista Martel. Who would be the lead in your sequel/prequel? A famous character from Star Trek or a new character.

The Burbs was one of my favorite movies growing up, Mike Henry. Is your script a sequel or prequel?

THEY LIVE prequel series. No question.
I'd love to see a They Live prequel series, Francisco Castro! Would the series focus on younger Nada and Frank?

No, Maurice Vaughan. It would be about the DRIFTER and the STREET PREACHER and how they ended up joining the underground rebellion against the aliens.
