Hey, everyone. My name’s Maurice. I’m a screenwriter (mainly Horror and Action), ghostwriter, commercial writer, pitch deck designer, and Stage 32 Lounge Moderator.
What’s your favorite ________ (movie, show, book, sports team, food, project you’ve worked on, etc.)?

Hey Maurice Vaughan ! Happy Introduce Yourself Weekend my friend! That's a great question but tough to answer. Food is easy...blueberry pancakes and Puerto Rican food. Project? For now I'll say "The Book of Jon" because there's a ton of action towards the end.

Maurice Vaughan Happy IYW, Maurice. My favourite movie? Well, I saw 'Sinners' last night and was wowed by it. It's such a amazing film, so at the moment that's all I can think about. As a lover of horror films, have you seen it yet?

Hey, Leonardo Ramirez. Happy Introduce Yourself Weekend! Blueberry pancakes sound delicious. I'm not sure if I've ever had them. I've had the blueberry pancake breakfast corndog things.

Happy IYW, Geoff Hall. I've been meaning to see Sinners. I've just been too busy. It's one of my most anticipated movies of the year.

Hi, Billy Kwack. I remember you telling me that's your favorite football team. I checked the Eagles' schedule yesterday. We play the Lions. Barry Sanders is one of the best running backs in NFL history.

It sounds like a fun weekend in Stage32!
My favorite movie? Probably are Inside Out, Véletlenül írtam egy könyvet (it's a movie from my country, Hungary), Mamma Mia, Cars, Shrek, and Sonic movies!
My favorite project? I currently (since 1 day lol) plan a project, which will be a sci-fi feature. I'm currently reading about worldbuilding and character writing on No Film School!

I think I saw Dragon, the Bruce Lee story growing up, Billy Kwack. There was a video game of it, right?

There's one in particular that my father taught me to make before he passes. It's called "mofongo" and it's green plantains mashed into a bowl with olive oil, garlic and fried pork cracklings. It's typically served with a chicken mojo sauce and a side dish (shrimp or fried pork). It's my favorite Maurice Vaughan.

Hi, Imola Orbán. Yeah, Introduce Yourself Weekend is always fun. I like Shrek and the Sonic movies! Can't wait for the next Sonic movie! I haven't seen Inside Out, életlenül írtam egy könyvet, Mamma Mia, or Cars yet. Cool. Did you hear about Stage 32's new Sci-Fi/Fantasy screenwriting contest?

Hi Maurice Vaughan, Happy YIW, my friend. Oh, my favorites are pancakes with syrup, donuts, P!nk's music, the Killing Eve series, House of the Dragon, and now I am having lots of fun directing my first short film. Ah! I love neons and the color pink. Another thing I love is the diner in the USA. We don't have here in Europe, but I love to have breakfast in a diner :) And you, Maurice? What are your favorites?

Hello! My favorite tv show is a series of shows from Japan called Super Sentai. While on the surface it looks like a simple show to sell toys to kids, it belies a certain maturity that it's western counterpart, Power Rangers, often lacks. There is a reverence for the material from the actors that you just don't get in the American version. My favorite film to watch is The Shining or Lawrence of Arabia, I really like great cinematography and visuals as I follow the Irwin Yablans theory of filmmaking, if you put something on screen that has never been on screen before you will find an audience.

I've written two episodes for a European animated sci-fi series a couple of years ago that was being packaged between multiple countries and I had a blast learning about how to: 1) write for animation 2) write for kids below 12 and 3) thinking about making content for a truly global audience.

I remember Michael Jordan and Shaq had their own video games too, Billy Kwack. I remember the Spy vs Spy segment. I think it was on Mad TV. It might be a different Spy vs Spy than the one you're talking about though. I'll have to check out the book and Star Jaws.

Hi, Jay Ward. I watched the Power Rangers, VR Troopers, and Big Bad Beetleborgs growing up. I'll have to check out Super Senta. The Shining is a classic. I still need to see Lawrence of Arabia. I agree. "If you put something on screen that has never been on screen before you will find an audience." You'll probably need marketing too. :)

Congratulations on your series being packaged between multiple countries, Geoffroy Faugerolas! I think it's smart to write with a global audience in mind. I love coming up with ideas that can be made in the U.S. or globally.

Maurice Vaughan sports team? Thanks for asking. My favourite football (proper football, not that American variety!) team, is Sunderland AFC. They played a semi-final game, during the week and scored the winner after extra time (15 minutes each way, on top of the 90 minutes played of normal game time). In the final minute of time added on top the extra time - are you following me? Anyway, this is what happened in the 122nd minute:

Maurice Vaughan I don't have a favorite food because I love too many types and kinds. My body shape proves it! But sometimes I recommend this recipe because it's so good: https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/marc-murphy/marc-murphys-french-toas... The only changes I make is to double to amount of sugar and brandy (I also use Courvoisier cognac rather than brandy). Needles say, taking a nap after eating this is not a bad idea!

Hi, Maurice Vaughan . Answering this question gives me the chance to talk about one person I admire from here to the Moon, That´s Cristiano Ronaldo. For me he is the best footbal player in the world, but I also admire him because of his confidence, focus, and work ethic. His unshakeable self-belief allows him to take on the toughest opponents without hesitation. His relentless drive to be the best keeps him pushing forward. He trains harder and longer than most. He is a natural leader, too. He leads by example, inspiring confidence in his teammates and setting high standards with his dedication. So, he is one of my biggest inspiration and I try to follow his examples in many ways.

Hi Maurice Vaughan ! I feel like I know you well, but I like your question so I'll still take part. :) My favorite food is Tiramisu, and one day my wife and I were at a restaurant and I ordered a piece for dessert, and as I was eating it I realized it was the best tiramisu I'd ever had. And I looked up at my wife and said "this is the best bite of the best food I've ever had." The high water mark of flavor.

Maurice Vaughan Aw, I can't wait the next Sonic movie either! Yes, I heard about it, but I can't participate in it, because I'm under 18. But could I still participate somehow (with the help of my parents, say)?

You're welcome, Geoff Hall. I tried to watch the video, but it's unavailable. Maybe it's the area I'm in. I'm not sure. I don't know a lot about football/soccer. It's like baseball to me in the sense that I don't really know what's going on, but I can still enjoy it.

I'm not sure since you live in Hungary, Imola Orbán. I suggest asking your parents to call the movie theater and find out what the rules are.

Maurice Vaughan Oh, no, I mean I can't participate in Stage32's sci-fi screenwriting contest because of my age!

Oh ok, Imola Orbán. Sorry, I misunderstood what you said. I thought about you were talking about seeing the next Sonic in theaters, but what I was thinking really doesn't make sense since I think the Sonic movies are rated PG. Haha I'm not sure if you can participate in Stage 32's Sci-Fi screenwriting contest or not, but I suggest having your parents email contests@stage32.com to find out.

My favorite scripts are all of the ones that I created. Although I've written dramatic scripts, I absolutely love writing Comedy.

Hi, Mone't Bradley. I used to think writing Comedy was too hard, but I got better with practice. It's fun now. It's still hard sometimes though. Mixing Comedy with other genres is fun too.

It was such a blessing from GOD for me, because I never thought that I would be writing Comedy. But at some of my plays I would open up and people would laugh. Then in one of my scripts that's actually is a Drama that same character I used was hysterical and made everyone laugh. this same character just happens to be in two of my other shows, but a different layer of course. When I write Comedy I literally laugh the entire time. My screenwriting consultant in whom I've worked with for years loves this particular character as well. I love making others laugh and hearing myself laugh because I've always been a serious and intense person.
