Re-Introduction: Photographer, Writer, Artist, And Sometimes Background/Extra Actor

I’m re-introducing myself!

I’m a creative based in Berkeley, California and looking for a creative tribe (production team) to work with in The Bay Area.

Since the last time I introduced myself, I’ve written one short Sci-Fi script. my big script is on the back burner still, where it will likely stay - it was based on politics and I think the story may be too dated. I’ve also received two more IMDB credits - one for a short film that I had a super small role in that is currently being submitted to festivals, and the other is a quirky feature where I was one of many people.

I am always looking for background or extra work - for some reason after I show up I’m always given a line or two, but I prefer not to speak! I’m currently Non-Union and my most complete online profile is on Backstage.

I love character driven Sci-Fi. Not into blow’em ups or evil aliens. I prefer the *Star franchises - Star Treks, Star Wars, Stargates, Battlestar Galactica. I like Apple+ Sci-Fi and shows like Severance, Silo, For All Mankind, See … I also like Dystopia. Currently heavily into The Handmaid’s Tale! I love ensemble casts and witty comedy!

I love working on set. I have an eye, and ear, for continuity. I am a still photographer, and while I’ve never had the chance to do character portraits, or behind the scenes images, that’s something I would like to do.

I guess I’m a Jane of all trades!

Let’s network!

Alexandra Stevens

Nice to meet you Kimberly Kradel . I'm impressed with all the 'trades' you have. What next for your short Sci-Fi script?

Maurice Vaughan

Hi, Kimberly Kradel. It's great to see you again. Congratulations on receiving two more IMDB credits! I started watching The Handmaid’s Tale. I need to finish. I think I got to episode 4 or 5 in the first season. Which season are you on?

Kimberly Kradel

Maurice Vaughan ! I’m on schedule with Season 6! Two more episodes to go! I’ve watched Seasons 1-5 three times. In our current political climate it absolutely has an even darker feel to it - it hits closer to home.

It’s a hard watch - dark, violent, and a bit disturbing. But the acting, cinematography, and storytelling are excellent.

Kimberly Kradel

Alexandra Stevens Thanks!

The Sci-Fi short is sitting on my hard drive for now. I have a few more in the mental pipeline. I’d like to write one that has one character that I can play and film on my iPhone :)

Of all of my trades, scriptwriting is the newest and most difficult.

Maurice Vaughan

The Handmaid’s Tale is a hard watch, Kimberly Kradel. Season 6!? I'm way behind! I just finished season 7 of All American yesterday. I still have to finish watching Silo, then Yellowjackets is next on my list. I might get back into The Handmaid’s Tale after those shows.

Kimberly Kradel

Maurice Vaughan Silo was a bit of a slog this latest season, but worth watching for the continuation of the story. I couldn’t get into Yellow Jackets!

In between things I’ve gone back to watch a few of the “square formats” - Northern Exposure being one and currently also rewatching Jeremiah since Prime now has both seasons.

Kimberly Kradel

Oh, if anyone reads this far, I’m looking for representation! Both for acting/background/recurring and for scripts/ideas.

Maurice Vaughan

I don't think I've heard of Northern Exposure and Jeremiah, Kimberly Kradel. I'll have to check them out.
