I treat getting rejected in writing the same as I do in a latin club.
Eventually I'll find a cariña that wants to dance.

I like that, Nathan Grimm. Keep looking for a cariña who wants to dance. You'll find one.

I'd rather be rejected than my emails not replied to as well, Phil Savage. I get responses sometimes, but a lot of people are really busy, so I keep that in mind.
Sometimes if a producer, director, etc. replies, a writer will send a "why aren't you interested?" kind of email, which puts the person in a tough spot and could make the person not want to work with the writer in the future, like Michael talks about in the blog.
And sometimes a query letter does go to spam. If a writer thinks that's what happened, they could send a follow-up email later on.

How do I handle rejection? Not well at all. But at least I admit it.

G.R. Barnett Think of it as if you're preparing a meal for people surrounded by countless food options—some exquisite, some bland.
If they choose greasy, mass-produced fare over your carefully crafted, home-cooked dish made with fresh ingredients, that's their loss, not yours.
You’re the chef. Your writing is your menu. Eventually, you'll attract patrons who appreciate quality over quantity.
Until then, pour yourself a cup of coffee, then focus on refining your recipes, sharpening your skills, and perfecting your presentation.
Persistence and patience are the secret ingredients to success; it really is that simple chica.
