Introduce Yourself : "What Do You See When Your Eyes Are Closed?" Where pain is buried, monsters awaken. by Luba Star

"What Do You See When Your Eyes Are Closed?" Where pain is buried, monsters awaken.

Hi! My name is Luba Star. I'm a Ukrainian storyteller and actress from a small village. My childhood was filled with fields, silence, and dreams that grew out of pain. At school, I experienced bullying — it left a wound that eventually turned into a story. That’s how my first script “What Others Don’t See” was born.

It’s a psychological drama about a girl who is driven into darkness by the cruelty around her. She summons a demon who begins to take revenge on those who hurt her. But later, the demon reveals the truth: he was once a kind boy, broken by society. Monsters aren’t born — they’re made.

I dream of seeing this story come to life as a 3D animated film or a full-length feature — emotional, real, and deeply human. If you’re drawn to themes of inner struggle, trauma, and hope — maybe we can create something truly meaningful together.

Hi, Luba Star. Nice to meet you. Sorry you experienced bullying in school. I did too. I write about bullying now.

What Others Don’t See sounds interesting! And the title is catchy. You could make a post for a co-writer on the Job Board (www.stage32.com/find-jobs).

Luba Star

Hi Moris!

Thank you so much for your kind words and support. I’m really sorry to hear that you also experienced bullying at school. But it's inspiring that you turned that painful experience into something creative and meaningful.

I’m truly glad the title “What Others Don’t See” caught your attention. This story is very personal to me — it holds a lot of deep emotions, pain, but also hope and light.

I’ll definitely follow your advice and create a post on the job board — thank you for the link!

Wishing you continued inspiration in your writing!

Maybe we’ll cross paths here again

Luba Star, I am sorry to hear about your experiences. I also experienced bullying at school. Plus, extreme mental and physical violence at home. I am glad that you are here to tell your story. By the way, I was in Ukraine back when it was part of the Soviet Union. May your country remain free.

Hi Luba, thank you for sharing such a raw and powerful story. “What Others Don’t See” sounds hauntingly beautiful — the kind of narrative that doesn’t just entertain but truly resonates. Your journey from pain to creative expression is deeply inspiring, and the theme that monsters are made, not born, is so timely and poignant.

We’re so glad to have your voice in the Stage 32 community. Wishing you all the success in bringing this story to life — whether as a 3D animated film or feature. Keep creating, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re looking for collaborators or support.

Luba Star

Thank you so much, Lakuan, for your kind and powerful words. They truly mean a lot to me. I’ve poured my heart into this story, and your support gives me hope. If there’s any way you could help me promote this project or connect it with the right people, I would be incredibly grateful. I dream of bringing this story to life as a 3D animated film or a full-length feature — and I sincerely believe it can resonate with many hearts.

Above all, I dream that one day this story could make it to Netflix.

Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Luba Star so great that you were able to take your pain and struggle and turn them into something worthwhile. Although would obviously have been a lot better if you had not been bullied at school. Your potential film sounds like it will have a lot of depth and tension to it as well as hope. I really do hope you find collaborators here and get to make it. I'm sure you have a lot of grit as a result of your experiences so feel confident you will

Luba Star

Alexandra, thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words!

Your support means a lot to me.

Yes, the journey hasn’t been easy, but the pain and the experiences I went through are what made me start creating.

I truly dream that one day this story will come to life on screen — and bring strength to those who feel alone now.

If you happen to know someone who might be interested in my project or could help it find its way to the screen, I’d be incredibly grateful for any support

This story sounds really nice. Almost like it could be a Miyazaki story that takes a very nuanced look at evil, with the ultimate goal being undertsanding not punishment.

Luba Star

Michael,

Your words touched me so deeply I almost cried. To be compared, even slightly, to the emotional depth of Miyazaki’s storytelling — it’s truly overwhelming. I’ve always admired how his stories seek to understand rather than judge. That’s exactly what I hoped to reflect — the quiet pain, the unheard voices, and the monsters that society unknowingly creates.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for seeing that. It means more than you can imagine.

Would you, perhaps, be willing to help or guide me a little? I’m just starting this journey, and any advice or support from someone like you would be priceless.

With gratitude and hope,

Liuba
