Hoping to help the future of Filmmaking

Maurice Vaughan

Hi, Stephen A. O'Hearn. Hope you're doing great. How do you plan on helping the future of filmmaking?

Stephen A. O'Hearn

Good Morning and thank you for connecting- The Film Forge is working on a new SaaS platform that will allow a fully realized script-to-screen management tool for filmmakers. As you are most likely aware, independent filmmaking is hard. Working with fragmented subscription tools like Studiobinder, EP, Wrapbook and storyboard generators not only work independently from each other but can cost a filmmaker over $15K over the course of a 2 year production cycle. Not too mention if you hire a storyboard artist it can cost you upwards of $50K and cost you 6 months of time. The Film Forge is fixing that. Under one umbrella we aim to have a script breakdown, scheduling, storyboarding and budgeting tool kit that not only optimizes the processes, and synergizes, we also offer an investment-matchmaking tool all for a 1/4 of the price.

We get it, making films are hard, and you need cost effective tools that work for you and with you to save money and time. That way you can take your funds and put them where they belong...on the screen.

Goto- Film-forge.com to learn more about our processes.

We finished out the wireframes and proof of concept, and just moved into full development -- SO we know this works.

Lastly we have already launched the Investor-Matchmaking platform for when your projected is ready for funding.

In this platform we review and vetting the information of your project to help reduce investor risk. Then publish and promote your project to aid in fundraising.

Cost of the fragmented tool kits- 15K (2 year cycle)

What others to help you find funding can be 10-15K-

The Film Forge- $100 Monthly subscription

Investor-Matchmaking- 1 Time Application fee of $50 then $10 monthly while published

Hello Stephen A. O'Hearn

thank you for sharing this amazing initiative. I truly admire the vision behind The Film Forge and how it’s trying to reshape the filmmaking process for independent creators like myself.

I’m a screenwriter and filmmaker based in Afghanistan, and I’ve recently completed a new screenplay. I’m currently exploring opportunities for international collaboration and creative partnerships.

However, I must mention that due to financial limitations and the current banking restrictions in my country (such as lack of access to PayPal and international credit cards), it’s difficult for me to subscribe or make payments through regular channels at this time.

That said, I’m deeply interested in your platform — especially in tools like script breakdown, budgeting, and the investor-matchmaking service. I believe these could significantly support the realization of my film.

Is there any possibility of a sponsored or alternative access plan for creators like me, who are working under restricted conditions but are eager to collaborate and grow?

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Maurice Vaughan

You can put promotion in a main Lounge (Filmmaking/Directing Lounge, Producing Lounge, Screenwriting Lounge, etc.) if your post starts a conversation that’s helpful or educational to the community, like giving advice or asking a question.

You can also put promotion in one of the main Lounges if you're asking for feedback.
