I’m finalizing the packaging for a near-future thriller - a brutal deconstruction of the Snow White myth. She is no innocent princess, but a ruthless, narcissistic influencer willing to commit any crime to protect her vanity.
Think Children of Men colliding with The Boys, carrying the emotional punch of The Pursuit of Happyness.
I’m debating the title. Two options:
VILE SNOW WHITE
+ Bold, polarizing, instantly grabs attention.
- Risk: Feels “too on-the-nose” or like a “cheap anti-Disney hook.”
POWDER WHITE
+ Subtle, layered (powder = purity + narcotic), sleek, more like Superman vs. Homelander.
- Risk: Loses bite, less scroll-stopping.
Which do you think works better for industry perception, pitches, and festivals?
P.S. I’m from Europe, and for many of us Snow White is just one of the Grimm tales - not a Disney icon.
P.P.S. If interested, I also have a creative deck, one-pager, mood reel, and proof-of-concept.

VILE SNOW WHITE is more catchy and fits the concept better, Alex Gutenberg.

Alex Gutenberg - if you need to keep the connection to Snow White at a glance, then I agree with Maurice Vaughan - 'powder white' could be about anything. 'Vile Snow White' leaves no doubt as to its subject.

I’m not crazy about either title. I wonder if there’s a famous phrase from Snow White you could take and do a twist on. Like “mirror mirror” or “heart in a box”. Just riffing here, but you get the idea.
