Hey everyone. Mau Rivero writing from Los Cabos, Baja California Sur. I am a bilingual screenwriter based in the luxurious beach town of los Cabos, where I witness completely opposite walks of life between the uber wealthy and the starving unemployed workers. I have also been part of the surf community for 25 years and have immersed myself in that world, which allows for a unique and original perspective on Surfing and beach communities. I am looking to contribute to projects that can benefit from my experience and point of view. Looking forward to connecting.

25 years in the surfing community is really impressive! I know who to hire for consulting if I ever write a surfing script.

so you're an in-between guy huh? I might be able to use you on the Spanish/Mexican part of my script if you're interested in helping me understand the people of southern California from your background. the story takes place a little further north, in Santa Ana, kind of itself an in-between place in many ways. bien de conocerte(se) amigo.

Hi Mau, great to meet you! Your perspective from Los Cabos and your deep connection with the surfing community sound fascinating — that contrast between the ultra-rich and the struggling workers is powerful material for storytelling. I’m currently developing a sci-fi project called Two Faces of the Moon, and I’d love to stay connected and perhaps exchange ideas as we both explore unique worlds in our writing.

Mau Rivero You mean like a snowboard girl who suddenly found herself on the shores of Los Cabos, Baja California, after mixing up the boarding gate? Sounds like the perfect start for a new story!

Masha-that is called 'fish out of water'. Many scripts use that technique. Mr. Bean is ALWAYS the fish out of water. That is the humor in all his movies.

Jon Shallit Thank you so much for naming the technique! I looked up some other films that use it, definitely helps to expand my view. What other techniques for humour would you recommend exploring?

Masha, I 'll send you a short comedy film script if I get an add. You'll find a lot there.
