Hey everyone,
I hope you’re all doing well.
So, I was invited to beta test a website called StoryPeer.com — you can read up on their background or where they originated from, but I think it’s really exciting to be part of a place where you can get free feedback from real writers, in exchange for giving feedback yourself. It’s kind of a token-based system.
I just sent my short film script for feedback, so let’s see how well they do. I’ll share more updates soon.
I actually found out about it through r/Screenwriting, and since it’s still in beta, I’d suggest trying it out with caution.
Since my script is a short, I decided to experiment a bit — will share how it goes soon!

Who actually runs it? I can't find anything. I like the concept, but submitting scripts to an organisation that has no names and faces behind it seems odd.

Hey,
sorry for late reply, i got feedback on my script within two days, i did like the feedback, only problem is that for the first half of the feedback, I thought it was written by AI, because the person didn't understand who the characters were, call daniel kid, and nathan father, which is something AI would do, but 2nd half did make sense.
it's not the platforms fault, i belive it's made by on r/screenwriting. please read the FAQ, if you feel something is off then please don't upload your script for feedback. I only did it because it's a short film and to me feedback matters more than turning it into a movie. I am more interested in writing a feature but I wanted to practise short form writing. Thanks for the heads-up, Rahul Sonawane.

The AI thing is a huge issue. Feedback from unvalidated sources died the day ChatGPT launched.
It's an ineffective way of developing craft anyway. Just people painting over one another because it feels good.

CJ Walley now that I read the feedback again, I believe it’s a mix of AI and human.
it’s a short film, the guy literally asked me to give away the twist in the beginning, which means he didn’t understand the script and ran it through AI and without 2nd though gave it back to me.
AI is going to harm more writers than help them. Ai doesn’t fully understand how to give feedback, believe me I have tried Gemini pro and ChatGPT pro because my new phone came with 3 months subscription. And most of the time doesn’t understand the relationship between characters, and ask you to add unnecessary scenes.
Only valuable feedback I received was from my previous post on stage32 and one short film director who helped me. AI is not going to help you become better writer. read and write that’s the only way.
One thing I like doing is, i read the horror scripts and highlight the descriptions and dialogue I like, then I try to rephrase them into my screenplay, it has helped a lot.
Only thing AI will help writers in, is faster research, yes I have tried that it’s better than googling, it lists the site it took information from so you don’t have to worry about misinformation, you can always cross check.
Hope AI feedback stops sooner than later, there is no way to know this unless you know your script inside out.

Hi, Rahul Sonawane! I read a script on StoryPeer (haven’t submitted mine yet). The script was really well-written — almost perfect — but I still noticed a few details worth pointing out. Hopefully, you'll get a thoughtful reader too :)

Nataly Kiut I did get some good feedback that helped me, but I was confused about whether it was AI-generated.
