PIKEY

Genre: Historical Crime Drama

Setting: Post-World War I Ireland, primarily Dublin, with flashbacks to the trenches of France and excursions to coastal areas. The series captures the raw turmoil of the Irish War of Independence (1919-1921), blending gritty street-level gang warfare with the political upheaval of revolutionaries fighting British rule. Expect rain-slicked cobblestone streets, smoky pubs filled with whispers of rebellion, and the constant threat of betrayal from all sides—English enforcers, Russian immigrants seeking new turf, and Irish nationalists demanding loyalty.

Tone: Dark, visceral, and unflinching, much like Peaky Blinders, with sharp dialogue, intense violence, moral ambiguity, and a haunting soundtrack mixing traditional Irish folk with brooding orchestral scores. Themes include the scars of war, family bonds tested by trauma, the cost of ambition, and the clash of old-world traditions with emerging criminal empires.

Hello Richard "RB" Botto it is similar to the Peaky Blinders series, but is in Ireland and not England.
