Anything Goes : Too many times by Sara Bagwell

Too many times

I feel like the instrumental I created is strong enough on its own? I feel like it could be a good instrumental sync song?

Maurice Vaughan

I really like your instrumental, Sara Bagwell! I think it's strong enough on its own too. It could be a song in a movie/show.

Sara Bagwell

Maurice Vaughan thank you Iv been building a catalog and when ready for my next phase I’m going to studio record some of my songs and Iv got studio quality instrumentals I’m getting too from switching to pro tools recently for mastering as BandLab has issues with some sound quality, but right now I’m in my writing and demo phase, so I appreciate the feedback! Plus , who knows someone here might need a soundtrack or instrumental and I can help by contributing one day, once I get more practice and feedback in! Iv been writing stories and poems longer than creating songs.

Sara Bagwell

Maurice Vaughan iv got 15 songs and instrumentals for my catalog so far but non are complete, just scratch or demo right now.

Michael Dzurak

I really like how the music builds. It's very atmospheric, would go well with a montage.

Marc Ginsburg

I would need to hear it before answering your question.

Sara Bagwell

Marc Ginsburg if you’re on the mobile app you may not see attached video, open up stage 32 on phone web browser and you should be able to listen to it .

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Sara Bagwell. I hope you sell your catalog and find people on here who need soundtracks and instrumentals! Stage 32 has a Job Board you could check (www.stage32.com/find-jobs). It's updated regularly.

it sounds like a good song.

I don’t know a lot about band lab but I assume it will tell you what notes it played if you used AI.

if so I can suggest ‘east west composer cloud’ if you want access to a huge library of high quality sounds. the sounds are good enough for anything which isn’t big enough to warrant a recording session with a real orchestra.

it’s around 20 or 25 bucks a month US and you can download any of the sounds you want and not the ones you don’t which saves a ton of hard drive space.

if you used AI it may not be worth the cost, I don’t know the market for AI music very well. it could be worth it idk.

be sure you mention if you used AI features to compose your songs. some people have very strong feelings about that.

as an example, after all the work I put in to make a scene- face acting, directing, writing, audio post, etc, I then showed my niece -and she assumed it was AI generated. lol. i had to tell her it was ME who made it. so I myself will be posting a notice at the beginning of my work that states no creative AI was used to make my film, and if I buy music that will be a legal requirement. it’s really important to me.

that said some people really don’t mind AI though and AI can keep your budget down, even if you’re not a fan. if you did get something like composer cloud (or other more high quality sounds) that might get you ahead of other AI composers, who will have the same kinds of sounds as each other. for the time being anyway.

again, if it’s worth the risk is your call.

I hope it works out, good luck!!

Sara Bagwell

John Montague no I didn’t use AI , is a combo of virtual instruments from FL studio and BandLab , the one track below I posted called too many times , Iv been working on for 9 months so sorry if I feel or seem a little offended.

Sara Bagwell

John Montague i posted a work in progress before I switch everything over to waveform for reference on a song

Sara Bagwell

oh I’m so sorry. I looked up Bandlab online and the search told me it used AI features to help users create songs.

my bad.

I actually liked the song a lot too. when I thought AI helped you make it I got a little mad thinking a computer was getting so good. haha. turns out it was you. that’s good news.

excellent work!! sorry if I offended you, I blame Google AI. haha.

Sara Bagwell

John Montague oh that makes since! Yes It has a few AI features but it’s like more for vocals , it’s has a vocal cleaner that’s AI (Iv tried it but it hates my rasp in my voice and just random chunks out) so I avoid that , I have tried it’s AI Mixer but it always offsets the lead for some weird reason and make the vocals way too loud , I know it has a feature where you can recompose your midi (once again I tried it , but…. It’s very repetitive feeling , my music is very wavy and floats and so the AI reads and tries to recompose and it either just. Glitches out or just will take one part and extrapolate it out to a repetitive nightmare, I’m a curious person, so naturally Iv messed with and tried some the AI features but for me , it just doesn’t work, like I tried using premade tracks and AI beats when I started venturing into making music about 18 months ago , but I go so frustrated because I’d listen to 100s of tracks and beats and I’d like parts of some , but when I go to make a song about a certain moment or emotion and it never fit right , so I went down a rabbit hole of synth and virtual instruments , bought a midi keyboard and a smart pad and just been experimenting, mannnnn I’m just now getting to the point where it sounds good , so many late nights getting frustrated by my lack of skill , but I quit my job and stay home working on it , failing over and over but did 10 hr days of learning piano scales , the difference between minor and major chords , shoot Iv actually slapped my thigh and recorded it then pitched it down and adjusted tone and volume to give the crappy virtual drums more depth, but I love the struggle and seeing what comes out in the end
