This isn’t an introduction—I’ve been part of this community for almost two years now—but my name is Ryan, and I’m a screenwriter here in Los Angeles.
I just wanted to take a moment to share a message that was on my heart today. To all the new creators joining Stage 32 and to my fellow "family" who have been here for the long haul:
Keep creating. Keep sharing your ideas. Above all, keep being authentic. Your authenticity is the most important key you have as a creator—it’s your signature.
Keep showing up for yourself even when it feels like no one is cheering for you. Even when the process feels too long or the hope feels thin. Keep your North Star, which is your heart, in sight.
Keep going. We’re all in this together.

I love this. I run a monthly short story contest for horror writers and I’m always saying that we - writers - can all succeed. there’s no need for us to fight ourselves. thanks for saying this.

Hello, nice to meet you.
Thank you very much for your warm encouragement. I’ve been here for a few months now, and I’m truly happy to have discovered Stage 32. It has become my creative home—a place where I can share my ideas and creativity openly and with courage, without fear of criticism or underestimation.
I ask questions, I learn, and I grow along this path. And I truly believe that one day, I will make it.

That’s a powerful message, Ryan Wilford - and one a lot of creators quietly need to hear.
Authenticity really is the one thing that can’t be replicated. Craft can be refined, structure can be learned, but voice - that signature you mentioned - comes from continuing to show up honestly, even when the path feels uncertain or unseen.
Long-form storytelling especially tests that endurance. It asks you to believe in something long before anyone else can see it.
Posts like this help remind people that persistence isn’t just about output - it’s about staying connected to the reason you started creating in the first place.
Appreciate you sharing that perspective with the community.

Thank you for sharing this Ryan. It's so important not to let the dream die - no matter the obstacles. And it helps to hear the encouragement from an outside source. I truly value how supportive this community is. It makes all the difference in the creative journeys we are all on.
We need more kind words in this life - thank you for providing them.
Right back at you. : )

@Patrick - That's awesome. Horror was amongst my favor film genres growing up and now that I'm writing mostly in the psychological thriller space, it's a close neighbor lol, but yes! I agree, there's room for all and it's so much better when we work together and let our resistance down.

Meriem Bouziani I love this. When I joined Stage 32 back in 2024 and even now, I felt the same way. This has become my go-to for sharing ideas, gaining insight and even challenging myself to be more vulnerable and open with my post. Growth is so important and having such a supportive community can help make the journey that much better. Keep going! Good luck!
Nice to meet you as well.

Elle Bolan Thank you for taking the time to reply, nice to meet you as well. I think it's sooo important to not only share our ideas and ask questions, but to share our vulnerable side, encourage one another and really support growth within the community as a whole. I'm glad this resonated!

Timothy Miller I agree, being a part of such an inviting and open community really brings out the most authentic creatives. Our individuality is what makes us so powerful, diverse...and awesome :)

Haley Mary No Problem! I'm glad it resonated and can spread a little positivity and encouragement. At times, it can seem like we're going through this journey alone, it's important to uplift one another and show that, no matter what, you're always supported...we see you.

B.A Sins I agree, as a creative (speaking for myself, at least), we can be hard on ourselves—judging our work and our timing. When you feel like you're going through it alone, it can all implode on you mentally.
Yes, our voice, our experiences, and our heart cannot be replicated. Creating 'in the darkness' is challenging, and you have to believe hard enough and long enough to keep building on something that may or may not succeed. You have to bet on yourself all the way through.
Thank you for the well-thought-out reply, I appreciate your words. I often tell myself: it's not about the output, it's about the energy in which you show up.

Elizabeth Wilson This... this is key! No matter the obstacles. I've learned that most times, the obstacles are actually needed—they're shaping you for what's next.
I wholeheartedly agree. Having a community that's not only innovative but encouraging and open is amazing; it helps make this journey feel so much less lonely.
I appreciate that! And yes—more kind words. :)
