Hey folks. I've been around here on Stage 32 for a week, not posting anything yet. I thought it's just the right time to put something up about myself.
My name is Alee, a storyteller from Iran, and I live in Istanbul, Turkey right now. While I often introduce myself as a video editor, I've been doing almost anything in the visual realm in the past 10 years, some as mere hobby, some for making a living, and some as my professional career. These include roles such as photographer, experimental and documentary filmmaker, scriptwriter, director, cinematographer, post-production specialist (editing, sound design, color grading), motion designer, project manager, and creative producer.
The reason I'm here is that I'm totally fed up with the commercial world. I have long envisioned myself in cinema, making pure art, and yet still find myself wrapped in commercial cocoon. Perhaps, it's time to stop, take my script out of the old folders, and get going! I'm here to distant my mind a bit from numbers and pet it with some art. I'm here to look for a way out from the darkness to the light, and hopefully to get to know fascinating people like you that might lead me through this path.

Today, at 12 PT, we have a community open house. Our community leader, Ashley Smith, does a monthly free webinar to explain how to use the platform. It's a great resource for when you first join! And if you can't attend the live, registering for it puts it in your library for rewatch.
