Hi Screenwriting Lounge — I’m Valeri Kolev, a screenwriter based in Tampa, FL (Bulgarian roots).
I write character-driven prestige drama inspired by true events, focused on family, resilience, and the emotional cost of silence.
I’ve just completed my feature screenplay AFTER THE SILENCE (Drama / Feature). I’m currently looking to connect with producers, managers, and development execs who are actively seeking grounded, emotionally-driven drama with awards potential.
If this is in your wheelhouse, I’d love to connect here on Stage 32. I can share a one-sheet and the screenplay upon request.
Thanks — looking forward to being part of the community and supporting others here as well.

Valeri, congratulations on completing the feature — that’s a serious milestone.
“Emotional cost of silence” is a strong thematic foundation, especially in prestige drama inspired by true events. When that inner tension is clear, it often carries more weight than plot mechanics alone.
And great to see another Bulgarian in this space. I’m Bulgarian as well — always encouraging to see our roots represented in character-driven storytelling.
Wishing you the right producers who understand the value of grounded, emotionally durable material.

Thanks, Lindbergh — great point.
Logline: AFTER THE SILENCE is a true-story prestige drama about a Florida couple shattered by the loss of their newborn—until a long-buried truth resurfaces in their tight-knit community, forcing them to choose between silence and the cost of speaking up.
One-sheet and full script (PDF) available upon request.

hi Valeri Kolev - congrats on completing your feature! you can email the Stage32 Development Success team at success@stage32.com for some guidance on who you should target with this specific project.
From reading your logline, is the protagonist the 'couple' or is one of them driving the story more than the other? cheers

Thanks, Sebastian Tudores — really appreciate it. I’ll email success@stage32.com for targeting guidance.
Regarding the protagonist: it’s a couple-driven story, but the primary POV and main arc are anchored in Val, with Nevena as a strong co-lead.
Thanks again!

my pleasure Valeri Kolev !
thanks for clarification on the protagonist. I read the logline in the Featured Projects section on your bio. I like the first half cause it really sets up tension, but felt a little general on the second half ."forcing one person to break the silence and risk everything for justice and redemption. It may be worth considering to just go ahead and state that Val is the 'one person' and more specifically what he is risking (as opposed to 'everything') - his life, his family, etc.?
An over simplified structure would be:
[Inciting Incident] + [Protagonist] + [Action] + [Antagonist/Obstacle] + [Stakes]
It sometimes feels like you risk giving away too much of the story, but it does help executives, etc. to grasp and 'see' your story quickly, which is the selling objective, at least, of your logline.
Glad you'll reach out to Geoff and his team - keep us posted on the journey! cheers

Thanks so much, Sebastian — this is extremely helpful (and you’re 100% right).
Here’s a tighter Val-centric version using that structure:
Logline: After his newborn son dies only hours after birth, Val, a Florida husband, spirals through grief and collapsing faith—until he must confront the truth he’s been avoiding and risk his marriage and his future family to choose life again.
Really appreciate the framework and the note on specific stakes. I’ll keep refining with that in mind and I’ll reach out to Geoff’s team as you suggested. Thanks again — I’ll keep you posted on the journey.
