Introduce Yourself : Happy IYW! by Marina Gomozova

Marina Gomozova

Happy IYW!

Hi everyone — I'm Marina, a screenwriter and series creator based in Bulgaria.

I've written SYNERGY, a 10-episode limited sci-fi drama — intimate, character-driven, think Her meets Arrival. It's my first screenplay, written almost entirely on instinct, fully developed with a visual bible and concept teaser. Season One is complete; the story is conceived as a trilogy, and I'm currently developing Seasons Two and Three.

I'm here to connect with literary managers, producers, and other writers working in thoughtful, atmospheric sci-fi and drama. Also genuinely curious to meet people earlier in their journey — there's something valuable in comparing notes with others figuring this out for the first time.

Hi Marina Gomozova ! Nice to meet you :) love the description of your protagonist forming " a connection the system was never designed to hold" - implies depth and invites questions.

Have you pitched the project yet here on the platform? cheers

Marina Gomozova

Hi Sebastian — nice to meet you too! Thank you, that means a lot coming from someone with your background in character work.

Yes — I've pitched it to a few executives here and have two more pitch sessions coming up this month. The script itself was complete before I started pitching, but the process has helped me sharpen how I present it — especially grounding the AI concept through the protagonist's human experience first.

My protagonist needs exactly what you describe — "linking movement grammar to character psychology and precise choices." She needs to be played by a real actress, someone who can carry micro-expression and restraint. Half-joking, but I hope whoever plays her trained somewhere like your studio.

Your Romania/Bulgaria connection caught my eye too — I'm based in Sofia. Small world.

Marina Gomozova small world and getting smaller every day, which is nice. Yeah, I was fortunate to spend a few weeks at the Sfumato Theater observing their work and seeing a few performances. Absolutely love their work.

and speaking of theater and actors, I'm with you on the desire as a screenwriter to bring to life that which we may have seen in our mind while writing, in terms of qualities and essence of the character. and I appreciate your comment re the studio where I trained - it's a great school indeed and, again, was fortunate to be guided to them for studies.

VERY happy to hear the process of pitching is providing the kind of feedback that allows you to sharpen the project and how it's presented. good luck with the two pitches this month and keep us updated on what happens please! cheers :)

Thank you, Sebastian! Sfumato — what a place to observe.

And yes, the pitching process is teaching me a lot about how to communicate the project, not just the story itself. Will definitely keep you posted. Cheers!
