Happy Introduce Yourself Weekend! I’m Eric Lotter, a screenwriter specializing in sci-fi, horror, and psychological/supernatural thrillers. I focus on writing high-concept, commercially viable stories with sharp tension, psychological depth, and a distinctive edge.
I’ve been fortunate to have my work recognized by some incredible festivals and competitions recently, and I’m always looking to connect with visionary producers, directors, indie filmmakers, and fellow writers to bring these kinds of stories to life.
- Monitor - Crush Depth(Sci-Fi Feature) – An ISA Fast Track Fellowship category selection and multi-contest placer. Other wins and placements in online events. Recently signed a non-exclusive representation/sales agreement for this project with Magwill Entertainment!
- Frozen Lies (Thriller Feature) – Winner of Best Thriller Screenplay at the Chicago Script Awards.
- The Devil's Cut (Supernatural Thriller Feature) – Finalist at the Cannes Script Festival and nominee at the Chandler International Film Festival.
- Gateway (TV Pilot) – Semifinalist in the Outstanding Screenplay TV Pilot Competition.
- Age of Aquarius(Sci-Fi Feature) – A deep, character-driven sci-fi narrative (originally To Kill Today). Finalist 19th StoryPro Awards, Award of Excellence Indie Fest Awards.
- Talos: Genesis (Sci-Fi Feature) – Placed in the Emerging Screenwriters Sci-Fi & Fantasy Competition.
- Shadows of the Storm / The Dream Waver: Walkers of the Waking World – A planned contained sci-fi/thriller franchise trilogy.
I’m here to expand my network with industry professionals who share a passion for elevated genre storytelling. Specifically, I'm looking to connect with:
- Producers & Production Companies looking for packaged, contest-proven genre scripts or open to discussing strategic development/OWAs.
- Directors hunting for their next contained thriller or sci-fi feature.
- Fellow Creatives to talk shop, trade notes on the festival circuit, and share industry insights.
When I’m not diving deep into script structures, character arcs, and world-building, I work on the tech side as a Sales Engineer focusing AI supercomputing, so I live and breathe the tech that often inspires my sci-fi concepts!
Drop a comment below, tell me what you’re working on, or feel free to connect and slide into my DM network. Let’s make something cool happen!
Best,
Eric
What kind of project are you currently focusing on or trying to get off the ground this weekend?
Now THAT's an IYW post. Holy hell, you have a ton going on. Good on you. And to answer your question, I am down in Zihuatanejo watching a cut of a film I acted in last year and sitting in on some color grading sessions.
