THE LOVE DOCTOR-How to take revenge on your Cheating Exs- A NEW ROM-COM.

New project!

Hi I'm a screenwriter looking for a producer for my new YA Romantic Comedy titled - THE LOVE DOCTOR- How to take revenge on your Cheating Exs

Comps: To All the Boys I've Loved Before meets John Tucker Must Die

Logline

"Real love has no conflict" was her brand motto. Andrea Valentina who is known as THE LOVE DOCTOR believes that real love is perfect and easy if you allow it to be easy. Until her flawless reputation is destroyed by a brutal, viral livestream breakup. To gain her reputation back she launches a comeback revenge plan: fake-dating her childhood ex-best friend while systematically sabotaging all her 4 exes that cheated on her, only to realize that she was completely wrong about everything she thought she knew about love.

Hi Praise,

I read your pitch for THE LOVE DOCTOR. The core idea is solid: a “love coach” getting humiliated live and forced to face her own mistakes. That’s a real spot in YA Rom-Com.

3 notes to tighten your story:

1. Make the conflict visual in the logline

“Viral livestream breakup” is vague. Give the specific hit.

Ex: _destroyed when her ex exposes their private fight live to 300k followers_

If we can see the scene in 1 line, the producer stops scrolling.

2. Pick 1 main engine

“Fake dating + sabotaging 4 exes” = 2 stories. That splits the tension.

Keep either the fake dating with her ex-best friend as the mirror, or the takedown of the 4 exes as the journey. 1 clear goal = 1 strong story.

3. Replace the moral with a choice

“She was wrong about love” = closed lesson.

End on a dilemma: _To heal, she has to choose between admitting her vulnerability in public and losing her brand... or keeping her mask and losing the only guy who really knows her._

YA viewers buy the choice, not the lesson.

Your foundation is good. If you tighten the conflict + emotional stakes, your pitch will hit 10x harder.

Wishing you all the best with THE LOVE DOCTOR
