"cannot have been easy herding on a bicycle." Writere, filmmakers, etc. could add "on a bicycle" or on something else to their story ideas. See where the story goes.

I've done the latter. Been on both sides of the herd: behind it and in control, and in front of it scrambling to get out of the way.
