I think there are cheap or even free voice to text converters. Here's one that seems to work well straight from the Chrome browser (which is free). I'd at least try this technology out before stepping away from writing.

Cortisone is a carcinogen. BTW FWIW. ICE and HEAT 20 minute intervals at least 3 times a day.

put your keyboard on your lap so that you don't have to hold up your wrist and see if you can type just moving your fingers

I've been chomping on the bit to get "Dragon" for a couple of years now. Sadly I'm a nag and not a thoroughbred...
