Introduce Yourself : Woo-hoo!! New Year!!! by Rachel J. Clark

Woo-hoo!! New Year!!!

Hey Stage32 family! My name is Rachel. I've been pretty quiet on this site since I joined, but I'd like to be more social and get to know some great people! I am so excited that 2013 is coming to a close and 2014 is going to start off with a bang. So much has happened this year, both in film and in life. I'd love to hear your biggest successes of the year! What are you proud of having accomplished? What are your career goals for 2014? I'm personally proud of many things this year. It was a big battle of transition for me, and I'm happy to say I came out on top. I started 2013 with dedicating myself to healthy living, lost 60 lbs and fell in love with running. I then graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, starred in a handful of brilliant short films, found a wonderful manager and agency, and was chosen to compete as Miss Scotland in the 2014 Queen of the Universe Pageant. I now have a voice and a platform to advocate positive body-image to young girls everywhere. All because last January, I decided to stop waiting for permission to succeed, and chose instead to take every opportunity and grow. Now, I'm only sharing these things because my resolution for 2014 is to be more open, more honest, and more social with other people. It's easy to feel isolated when you're fighting many battles at once, especially in LA. I want to make an effort to reach out to other people and get over my shyness. So, here I am! If you and I had a conversation at the end of 2014, what do you hope your highlights of the year will be? I'm really curious to see what your goals are! Much love, Rachel J. Clark

Great post! I love your spirit. I'm going through a similar transition myself, though my change was in my career... and 2014 looks like it's going to be a great year :)
