Hey guys, I am Eddie and I found out about Stage32 over some facebook groups. I am a former active duty Marine, married with a beautiful daughter. I am also trying to become a working actor. Not so much to become famous but because I have a love for the art of acting. I am currently a Third Party Inspector for the Oil & Gas Industry but I am tying to convince my wife that Acting is my passion and that I want to follow my dream, well her argument is that acting is not as financially stable as my current job and that she will not move to LA (Nor will I unless I absolutely have to). So I agreed to slowly get into it with jobs around Houston & Austin. I am also trying to save up some money to start taking acting classes here in Houston, not sure whether I want to go to UH or just some small classes here and there. Well thank you for taking the time to read my quite long and boring introduction. I hope and pray that I meet some fantastic people here and network like crazy. Also if you are eve looking for an actor in the South Texas area, please do not hesitate to look me up and message me. Thank you, Eddie Durante Jr.
Good luck Eddie, that sounds like a difficult situation but where there's a will there's a way
Thank you Dave.

Hey Eddie, welcome to Stage 32! You'll love it here, trust me. Lots of great people and lots of meetups (even outside of LA). One thing to keep in mind is that a lot of acting opportunities are outside of LA, especially right now. A lot of filming is going on in Atlanta, Chicago, Oakland, New York, even Nevada. (and a bit in Texas as well) The industry isn't really just focused on LA anymore. Granted most of the main studios are out here, BUT they are also in London, etc. The reason I'm telling you all this is because you don't need to move out here to pursue acting. Get involved in some theater in your area. Look for other people on here (Stage32) that are from Texas and meetup, etc. Also, just do exactly what you said and look into some acting classes. The more proactive you become about it the more seriously your wife will probably take you when it comes to acting. Keep in mind though, not everyone will understand or comprehend the fact that anything is possible, including acting. You decide your level of success by what you put into it, just like anything else; so I want to wish you all the success in the world! Have fun! -Robert
Thank you Robert.
