ANGELS CAN DIE

ANGELS CAN DIE
By Kwesi L. Lewis

GENRE: Horror, Fantasy
LOGLINE:

Born with demonic powers and hunted by Angels, a devout young priest must embrace his unholy abilities to stop his childhood friend (the Devil) from unleashing Armageddon and expose the divine hypocrisies behind his persecution.

SYNOPSIS:

One-Page Synopsis: Angels Can Die – A Dark Fantasy Saga.

On a stormy night outside a Victorian-style convent, a child appears, etching sigils onto the street with no memory of his past. A brave nun defies the tempest to rescue him, but unknowingly alters the fate of the world. The boy, Silas, carries a power far beyond the understanding of the church, and is haunted by an ethereal whisper: “Don’t let them find you!”

Fifteen years later, Silas is a young priest living a quiet life under the care of the clergy, tending to pigeons and ignoring the unholy abilities that simmer beneath his skin. But the peace he so desperately tried to build is fragile. A violent exorcism awakens something ancient within him, summoning a confederacy of Angels to his location. He’s captured, dragged to the Land Beyond the Veil (a separate dimension), and thrust into a hidden war between celestial forces and infernal beings. Guided, or perhaps manipulated, by a childhood friend he calls Sam (a little boy only he can see), Silas begins to unravel his origins, his purpose, and the very nature of his soul.

The Angels govern the Land Beyond the Veil with an iron fist, wielding electric whips and divine authority, claiming it’s to protect citizens from a coming Armageddon. Among them is Dream, a rogue agent with a rebellious streak. And Beatrice, a high-ranking officer burdened by a past she can’t escape. But they aren't the only ones interested in the young priest. From the shadows, Sam’s disciples of the Damned gather, whispering Sam’s true name: “HIM. While the Angels endeavor to contain Silas’s power, the disciples seek to unleash it and revel as Sam “cleanses” the Earth, remaking creation in his image.

As the episodes progress, we’ll witness the land beyond the Veil teeter on the brink of chaos: Freedom Fighters clashing with the Angels, Demons prowling the back alleys, and ancient prophecies about an approaching cataclysm. Silas stands at the center of it all: a pawn who could be their king, a priest who could be their messiah— or the actual cause of their destruction. Only time will tell.

Angels Can Die is a dark fantasy epic that blurs the line between good and evil, where the divine wields cages and Demons masquerade as loved ones. It’s Silas’s story of identity, faith, and belonging. And crescendos to the moment when he finally realizes that the person he truly is has always been who he’s terrified to be. The Veil thins. The sky cracks open. And the boy found in the storm needs to embrace the maelstrom and accept his destiny to stop Armageddon.

Michael Dzurak and Julien Samson thank you for the feedback. What suggestions can you give me to strengthen the logline?

Michael Dzurak

In my view, it has too many lore specific terms and adjectives. I'd pare it down to:

"A young priest, born of The Nightmare, must become Heaven's unholy weapon to stop his childhood friend, the King of the Underworld, from unleashing Armageddon."

Or even more:

"A young priest must become Heaven's unholy weapon to stop his childhood friend, the King of the Underworld, from unleashing Armageddon."

Hey Michael Dzurak, I changed the logline to your suggestion. Thank you so much for the feedback. Let's keep in touch.
