Sam Oster is a stills photographer for the entertainment industries. She runs her studio Silvertrace at Cog Creative Space in Adelaide.
Sam has worked on a range of feature films, TV series, short films and documentaries, photographing well-known personalities like Natalie Imbruglia, Hugo Weaving, and Toni Collette. Sam brings her friendly personality and technical skills to any film set, where her small stature makes it easy for her position herself for the best shots! She can work efficiently and effectively, bringing her 15-year on-set experience to problem-solve as required. Sam has a specialised location lighting kit (battery powered strobes) for key art stills and headshots. She works with excellent equipment and always aims to capture the spirit, character and drama of any production. For her personal work, Sam creates moving image work based on sequencing stills & timelapse. She has been commissioned by a number of organisations to create moving image work for exhibition and applied community arts. She is very passionate about photography and the moving image. Sam also teaches at the Centre for Creative Photography.
