Everyone in the country is suffering from long-term memory loss, which is why they have to keep diaries on a daily basis and write down everything happening to them. Tom accidentally finds a diary of a girl, whom he doesn’t remember, where she describes a poignant love story with him.  After a long search, he finds this girl, but only to learn that she is married, and of course, has no idea who he is. Having fallen in love with her, he gets a job at their house doing repairs in order to find out what had really happened between them. Obsessed with his feelings for her, he makes many sacrifices for the sake of his love, and as it turns out, eventually at her great expense.
