This is a very good conversation. Here's my 2 cents, I feel that we are truly living in the days of demagnetized Star Power due to the fact that, in the past , A-List Actors check's kept getting bigger and bigger and finally the bubble busted. The new stars are reasonably paid and are no-names featured in low budget productions that are out performing "100 zillion dollar films" that are too over the top to understand. Hollywood is now in the hands of ordinary people who have many choices and decide for themselves what they want to see. Studios should hire simple EVPs who connect with the masses to take the film industry back. Unless it's a franchise film, as a studio VP, I would never have green lit many of today's big budget films. The old way does not work anymore. We are living in a new day. Keep it simple.
