About Steven

Award winning classical/jazz pianist and composer Steven Buckner has always been inspired by others and world events to create his own distinctive style in music composition. As a native from Flint Michigan, Steven continues to seek inspiration thru the people he meets and writes the music dedicated to those experiences. Steve describes his music as a channeling of cultural and spiritual elements. Steve added that, "Peace comes from within, and music can have a place for it as well"

Steven began his musical journey at the age of 5 after watching the ending credits to several films. It wasn't until he turned 10 that the magic began. By a twist of several events in his life, Steven heard his father play O Little Town of Bethlehem on the piano. Out of the whole song there was one chord that stuck out from the piece that Steven began to want to learn it. Never taken a piano lesson in his life, Steve's father taught him the song and after learning it, he began to develop his own compositions.

Steven also remarked that, "Music is just like a painting, and it can also be a timeless piece of work as well!
