About Alvin

Alvin Williams is currently co-­‐founder and partner in the newly developed stage play touring division, Tour One.

Williams was co-­‐founder and Executive Vice President of the multi-­‐channel network (MCN) Alchemy Networks, in partnership with Google/Youtube. Alvin was responsible and actively handled; marketing, business development, publicity, on-­‐line, social media and ad sales. Armed with a strong background in marketing, talent development, production, and promotion, Williams brought a wealth of entertainment industry expertise to the Alchemy media group.

Prior to joining Alchemy, Williams’ tenure also includes a post as Director of Marketing & Affinity Promotions and later as Senior Director of Music, Talent & Acquisitions at UPTV, where he was instrumental in launching the small cable network from zero house-­‐holds to over 40 million house-­‐holds. Alvin was later tapped by the CEO to create the Music Industry & Acquisitions department that lead to success of advertiser supported short-­‐form programming
and the development and acquisition of a wide range of programming for the network. Williams was responsible for creating the successful stage play format, Gospel Playhouse and signing JD Lawrence and his Community Service stage-­‐play to sitcom as the first playwright to the programming initiative.

Alvin founded, A. Williams Entertainment Group in 2000. Under his leadership, the company developed promotions for a variety of acclaimed productions that include: urban stage plays with renowned playwright, Michael Matthews and top-­‐grossing playwright JD Lawrence; comedy tours featuring Martin Lawrence, Jamie Foxx, Chris Tucker, Steve Harvey, Cedric The Entertainer, Chris Rock and the late Bernie Mac, as well as Russell Simmons Def Comedy Jam, Walter Latham’s Kings of Comedy. Williams’ and the Stellar Gospel Music Awards.

Williams’ experience also extends to the music genre. Having served as Director of Music World Gospel, where he created the Music World Gospel division alongside music mogul Mathew Knowles. Williams worked with such artists as Michelle Williams, Ramiyah, and Destiny’s Child. Additionally, Williams earned executive-­‐producer credits for five albums, including Shirley Caesar’s “Hymns”, nominated for Grammy and Dove awards in 2002, as well as Caesar’s 2001
Grammy Award-­‐winning “You Can Make It”. Williams also served as A&R Director of Word Records, which released New Direction’s Grammy nominated “Get Your Praise On”. Williams is the co-­‐author of The Business Of Music For The Gospel and Christian Industry and his forth-­‐coming textbooks, The Production Assistant Passport and Webseries Makers.

He holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Tennessee State University and is an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Military.
