Main characters: Runaway teen girl and a Native American male.

Synopsis: A teen girl on the run from an abusive home finds the devil at a rest stop. Tired and hungry she lets her guard down and gets kidnapped by a trucker. Impending death is a hell of a motivation. She escapes by leaping out his logging truck high on a mountain road. It is a leap of the desperate.

She wakes in a mountain cabin, alone with a broken leg and food. Then up the mountain, through the snow cometh The Man; moving too fast, talking to wolves, but he heals her legs quickly and treats her with kindness and respect. She is too guarded to even share her name, so they call each other The Man and The Girl.

She is intrigued that a man alone on a mountain has a secret room filled with futuristic high tech stuff. What the hell does he do on the mountain?

The Girl relaxes; she feels safe for the first time in her young life. In a winter haven high above the hard times below, he teaches her about the stars.

The harsh outside intrudes on the peace of the high cabin. New Dad has a hard side. Her kidnapper dies in the snow. Intruders; men who kill for a living fare no better. She is alarmed, but likes the security of the sanctuary The Man offers.

The Man has a secret as big as the galaxy. He is not from Earth and the time has come to leave. Two Yakama know this, they have known him all their lives.

So new Dad is really Starman; confusion. New Dad was an alien in The Man’s body; double confusion. New Dad offers her life on another planet; triple confusion. Events are moving too fast for The Girl, but time is running out. The ship has got to go.

This Girl has family, they may not look like her, but they love her. She wants a different future, so she leaps; the leap of hope, the leap to a new life, a new very distant life.

This for me was the most difficult logline to write to convey the plot. I have 12 versions all trying to convey the theme. I think I have to give it to one of them dar logline experts.
