Homeless Comforts (Dir: Al Carretta, 2019, 40m)

From stage to screen...This is what I can do on £45.99 (about $60). Based on Paul Bridger's highly topical and excellently reviewed stageplay 'Homeless Comforts', first produced at Etcetera Theatre, Camden, London as part of the 2017 Camden Fringe, this is my Spring 2019 screen adaptation of the show I originally directed. It's never had any traction, which is why it's now out for free on YouTube.

Written, shot and edited in less than 48hrs in January this monologue and style experiment was originally produced to be used as a fleetingly referenced background media asset for my forthcoming feature 'Princess in the Castle'. Having now been seen by a few people, we're giving the full version a little bit of a push as a short film that stands on it's own merit.... In 1952, in an unnamed southern US state, an institutionalised prisoner on death row eats his final meal and delivers his last statement to a lawyer, oblivious to what is coming next...
