Brooks S Jones

Born just outside of New York City, Brooks S. Jones grew up on the films of fellow New Yorkers such as, Ed Burns, Spike Lee, and Woody Allen. All of which influenced his style an approach to both film watching and film making. Brooks started his formal production education at the age of 13, where attended Stanford University's Filmmaking summer camp. That was where Brooks was first introduced into non linear video editing. (Final Cut Pro 2) Since then, Brooks had developed a deep interest in the post-production phase of filmmaking, and started to develop his own ideas on what he thought would look "cool" on screen. Putting his best efforts forward during his college years at the University of Southern Maine, Brooks took an active role in pursuing opportunities at the universities Media Studies department. The educational resources allowed gave Brooks the inspiration to start a independent production company. ( Man with a Cam) Brooks would use utilize his abilities of both shooting and editing to assist clients with various projects from audition reels, music videos to comedy sketches. In an effort to gain employment in the entertainment Industry, Brooks took on a string of hands-on internships with network and cable news channels, including NBC, CBS, and BET. The next four years, Brooks started to develop an interest in the creative development side of pre-production. It was then, Brooks wrote his first pilot. (Highly Motivated) Not long after that, Brooks caught the writing bug and decided to keep writing his treatments, ideas and even awkward jokes down on paper. All this lead to packing up from New York and shipping out west to California where Brooks decided to take his years of experience of working in all levels of production and his head full of creative ideas to Hollywood. Since re-establishing himself in Los Angeles, Brooks has co-written a feature film and written and directed two short films.
