THE SECRET EMPIRE

LOGLINE:

 In 1853, the technologically advanced American squadron embarks for Japan's rich resources. Samuel, an American navy man, will have more then his hands full assisting his Commodore on opening the doors to this mysterious and safeguarded land.

SYNOPSIS:

Based on true historical events...

Back in 1853, the United States set sail to one of the most secret and heavily locked countries in the world: Japan. America has endured into the technological revolution, setting out to explore the perplexing land. With America's fire power and colossal coal driven ships, they demand to set up a coaling station in the bay of Edo. What is now called, "Tokyo".

The famous Commodore “Matthew C. Perry” takes charge to deliver a letter from the United States President “Millard Fillmore”. Stating that they wish to open Japan’s doors for TRADE. In Japanese culture, it is forbidden to conduct any type of negations with foreigners. The Samurai are loyal to their nations customs and honoured by their military leader — “THE SHOGUN".

After heated discussions, the Americans were denied access. They then informed the Japanese that they will stay the winter in China. Therefore, giving them an ultimatum that they will be back in the spring, with more ships and fire power. “Lieutenant Samuel Huntington” our lead and the Commodore’s right hand man, is intrigued by the Japanese culture. He becomes infatuated by a beautiful, strong, elegant woman, named “Kinu". A hybrid Samurai/Geisha.

Will Samuel be able to assist his country securing trade, while respecting Kinu and the Samurai’s code of honour?
