By John F Tupper

GENRE: Action, Adventure, Animation

A selfish young desert rat, who has only ever seen water as morning dew drops, is abducted and then recruited to join a tomboy river rat on a quest to save her river from a giant snake that would drink it dry.

A self-centered young desert rat, orphaned as a pup by a snake, is told by his mentor, an old desert tortoise, that their white desert world was once a great lake. Tired of cactus juice for breakfast, the young rat sets out to find water. He is abducted and stolen away to the Colorado River where he is rescued by a huge tribe of river rats known as ‘The Keepers of the Turquoise Pools.” There he is tested and plunged into a plan to defeat a great evil that threatens to drink the river away and transform the water world into another white desert. The evil he must defeat is his greatest fear, the great black snake that drinks the world.

John, this could be really fun - reminds me a little of WATERSHIP DOWN.

May I read this?

"Desert Rat" is definitely not "Rango," but there are similarities in setting and also the quest for water thing. Aside from that it's a very different story. Go ahead and read it if you like. - JT
