SYNOPSIS:
The Stellar Supreme Tribunal of Justice sentences humans to extinction for their crimes against Earth. The verdict prompts the Martians to implement a secret rescue plan involving two advanced AI probes, Khrysos and Aurum, launched by a Yukon gold-mining company to mine an asteroid.
The plan unleashes a myriad of unforeseen adventures for the probes, the Martians, and the gold-mining company, culminating with the clandestine interference in the U.S. presidential election. The new president has a vision to create a better future for humanity and Earth, but he can only achieve it with the help of the probes.

Problem to be solved
I'm wondering if the new (somewhat naive?) president isn't the protagonist, not the AI. Not clear on who antagonist is. The Tribunal? "The plan unleashes a myriad of unforeseen adventures for the probes." Can you define a central antagonist ? What kind of threat will render humanity extinct?
