Expand commentHi, Tessa Mckenzie. I’m a Stage 32 Lounge Moderator. I wanted to let you know I moved your post from the Financing/Crowdfunding Lounge to the Your Stage Lounge because it’s promotion. Promotion can go in the Your Stage Lounge and on Your Wall.
You can post your promotion in one of the main Lounges (Financing/Crowdfunding Lounge, Producing Lounge, Filmmaking/Directing Lounge, etc.) if your post starts a conversation that’s helpful or educational to the community. Examples: If you post about your crowdfunding campaign in the Financing/Crowdfunding Lounge, within that post you could start a discussion by giving advice on setting up a campaign or asking for advice on running a campaign.
You can also post your promotion in one of the main Lounges if you're asking for feedback.
Let me know if you have any questions. Hope the For Love of the American Dream campaign gets fully funded!

What come next in the discussion, how do we offer a well known artist to do a soundtrack. What else come in the discussion. Any intel would be greatfully appreciated. I know all about the movie, the points and all. But, soundtrack is a different beast.

So, I'm talking with a new studio right now, the goes is for them to let me produce my movie, and then I will let them know I want my writer to work the movie with us. From the writer point of view what would be the transition to work with me the producer on the package, to go work on making the actual movie for studio. I have a clear picture in my head what the requirement are for me as a producer, but for him as a writer, as far as compensation, contract, duties. Thank for anyone guidance, my writer been my right arm through out the entire painful process, so I want to make sure I can repay him moving forward.
Ask the writer what they need. That is my suggestion as the acceptance lies with them.
This is a brand new topic to me, Content Partner unite with a studio. From a legal point of view, what should my steps be? Expand commentI feel like this is a great question for legal counsel. You definitely don't want to agree to terms about credits, rights, wages or residuals without consulting a lawyer to review those contracts first. That being said, it sounds like this contract would be between you, as the producer and owner of the rights to the script, and the Studio, the production company, yes? If so, "in association with" seems like the right title, but I would definitely confirm that with legal.

I would seek entertainment attorney counsel specifically before signing anything. If anyone has any objection to legal counsel or formal documents it could be the flag you need before proceeding.
I have everything ready to go full package and some, but a trailer is required. How do i get like 50k to 100k for my feature film. We just divided the points did the projection, we even willing to offer some points for soft money. Anyone know how do go to get some money to shoot a professional trailer.

The one trailer got my friend a $150k investment on his zombie film. It got picked up by Shudder and sold to the UK. You got to get really creative. Development funds is usually 5%-10% of your total estimated budget. That's what needs to be raised first. That covers the initial cost of hiring an entertainment attorney so you can get an executive summary and operational agreement, casting director retainer, sales estimates, etc.
Good tips here. You definitely do not need to spend a great deal of money on a trailer. This can be a waste of money unless money is no object for you. A Ripomatic is a very good way to go and you can...
Expand commentGood tips here. You definitely do not need to spend a great deal of money on a trailer. This can be a waste of money unless money is no object for you. A Ripomatic is a very good way to go and you can even go shoot something for a very low cost with a small group of filmmakers. Better to put development funds toward obtaining a professional film budget and schedule from a veteran producer/line producer like myself, initial fees for a casting director and a retainer for an attorney. Crowd sourcing is a good way to raise development funding and creates a platform for your friends and family to contribute what they can as well. Read Richard RB Botto's book 'Crowd Sourcing for Filmmakers'. Good luck, sounds like you have much already in place.

Expand commentI want to thank you all for your help with my contract issues. I have an idea for a concept it took 3 writers to get it where it should as it ended up being a difficult script, as the end line in Hollywood.. I do respect each one on my writers, I know Hollywood is a shark tank, but I refuse to throw my writers under the bus. I really want to do right by every single one of them. So, that help me so I'll run it through the lawyer who does the contract that the writers should get a percentage of the box office profit. Thank you that was the piece I had missing. Greatly appreciate.
Look after your writers and they'll look after you. Hope it all works out, Tessa.

You can put your promotion in a main Lounge (Financing/Crowdfunding Lounge, Producing Lounge, Filmmaking/Directing Lounge, etc.) if your post starts a conversation that’s helpful or educational to the community.
You can also post your promotion in a main Lounge if you're asking for feedback.
Also, Stage 32 doesn't want members posting the same thing in different main Lounges on the same day because it can clog up the Lounges and other members’ posts won’t be seen.
Let me know if you have any questions.
