A man serving a life sentence for murder lives vicariously through dreams of his wayward son and others in this 1990s era Hollywood fantastical reimagining of the Wizard of Oz. 

SYNOPSIS:

Mike Kiss, a young man from Cleveland with acting aspirations, moves to Los Angeles to pursue his dreams, carrying the burden of his father Bruce's imprisonment and a complicated relationship with his hometown girlfriend Casey. In LA, he meets and quickly moves in with Imelda, a hairdresser with her own troubled past including an unstable ex-husband, Shafik.

Mike becomes entangled with Mr. B, a powerful Hollywood producer who forces him into illegal activities by threatening to expose Mike's mother's underground gambling operation. Meanwhile, Shafik kidnaps Imelda, leading to a dramatic confrontation where it's revealed that Mr. B had murdered Shafik's brother Roger, who was having an affair with Mr. B's wife Viviana.

The story culminates in Mr. B's arrest, but it's revealed to be an elaborate dream sequence experienced by Mike's imprisoned father Bruce, who imagines different possibilities for his son's life. In reality, Mike became a detective in Cleveland, married Casey, and had children - choosing a more conventional path than his father's criminal lifestyle or his Hollywood dreams.

The screenplay explores themes of family legacy, the price of ambition, and the tension between dreams and reality, all while playing with narrative structure through its dream-within-a-dream format.
