SYNOPSIS:

Now more than ever the world needs authentic heroes like real-life Philly Paramedic, Lawrence Amaker, (2017 Paramedic of the Year, Philadelphia), who reminds me a lot of Actor, Sam Richardson. Lawrence took me on a ride-along to the locations of his most haunting experiences. He quietly shared his wish that he could’ve somehow helped all the kids who couldn't be saved.

I went looking for a ghost story, and I found the hero who inspired:

Schemers Entertainment, Manager, David Binns: “I enjoy a good Amblin-esque, GHOSTBUSTERS-style, horror feature. THE PARAMEDIC is a great representation of your voice, while also showing your cross-genre range.”

Synopsis - Philly Paramedic, Jordan Ames, grew-up in an orphanage with two ghost-kids from the 80's as his best friends. Determined to help them reunite with their parents in the afterlife, Jordan uses the prototype ghost-tech he's built but accidentally leads them into the grip of an escaped Demon, (possessing Doctor Behr a close friend of Jordan’s), who needs their souls to buy his freedom from the underworld.

Desperate to rescue the ghost-kids, and hopefully save his friend before it's too late, Jordan reveals his ghost-tech to girlfriend, Detective Lexi Burke so she can help locate Doctor Behr. When they do, Jordan battles the Demon Doctor, and realizes his friend’s soul is lost for good. Jordan manages to rescue the ghost-kids but is fatally injured. Doctor Behr is killed.

Vowing revenge as he escapes, the Demon Entity threatens a new plan: to collect a thousand souls and use them to unleash the demon apocalypse.

As Jordan takes his last breath in Lexi’s arms, Lexi uses the ghost-tech and sees Jordan's ghost emerge. Jordan is met by the angelic spirit of the Mother he never knew. She reveals she was once an Angel who fell in love with a mortal and chose to become mortal herself. She never expected Jordan would be born with Nephilim abilities. Abilities he can now utilize in spirit form. Unfortunately there’s no time for Jordan to learn to use them.

Jordan's got one last chance to stop the Demon Entity from collecting and using a new group of souls to unleash the apocalypse. He must find the last existing Guardian Sword, locked away within the Cathedral of St. Peter’s Secret Library.

With Lexi's help Jordan locates the sword, extracts the phantom sword within, then tracks down the Demon Entity. Jordan wields the phantom sword in a street fight against the Demon Entity and ultimately delivers the Demon back to the underworld.

Miraculously, Jordan’s ghost is restored to human form as a Soul Guardian.

Together, Jordan and Lexi are responsible for safeguarding lost souls from demonic harm, helping them resolve unfinished business, and guiding them into the light.

What could possibly go wrong...

THE PARAMEDIC: DEADENDERS: Won 2nd Place Best Screenplay, at Screamfest LA. (as THE SERAPHIM) in 2005. Screamfest LA Producer, Rachel Belofsky is very interested in utilizing her international network to help produce The Paramedic.

Why Me - Growing-up just outside of Philadelphia, I needed my wild imagination to create fun & mayhem. It got me into a lot of trouble though, like that time, when I was 10 and I stole my parents' car to take my little sister for ice-cream. (we made it as far as the neighbor’s front yard). Life’s misadventures, and years of being told what’s out of my reach, led me to discover my brand: Heartfelt Dramedy, for Features and Series, about misfits struggling to become who they were always meant to be.

I've been lucky to study with Blake Snyder, Jen Grisanti, Jessica Bendinger, and now the wonderful Holiday RomCom Writer, Carley Smale.

I was the Lead Graphic Designer for several wonderful feature films including two Academy Award Winners. I fell in love with storytelling, started screenwriting, won Top Ten and Cinestory and lunch with Christopher McQuarrie. Won 2nd Place and Top Five Best Screenplay at ScreamfestLA, and became an Amazon Studios Best Screenplay Competition Semi-Finalist. Was short-listed in both the NBC and ABC TV Writers Showcases. And so much more...
